Mwembe Self Help Project is a community based self help project of the people of the Mwembe surbubs of Kisii Town ,Nyanza Province Kenya.The project was initiated in 2007 and registered this year January 2nd 2008 with Ministry of Culture and Social Services-Kisii.
The main goal of the project is to empower the vulnerable group members from the poor environment of Mwembe area to improve their livelihood through income generating activities to alleviate poverty.It has also the mandate to participate in relief activities in Mwembe area,Kisii in collaboration with other organisations.
It is managed by a Management Committee of 7 led by the Chairperson Ms Lydia Mosiere who is God fearing and servant of God and has been proactive in many initiatves that addresses the plight of vulnerable women and children in the project area as a calling in line with biblical principles of showing compassion.
